JJA Jazz Awards — Journalism and Media: Willard Jenkins, Nate Chinen, Paul de Barros, Jim Wilke, JazzTimes & more
Journalist, broadcaster, educator and arts administrator Willard Jenkins received the award for Lifetime Achievement in Jazz Journalism, JazzTimes was named print periodical of the year, and New York Times critic Nate Chinen received the Helen Dance-Robert Palmer Award for Writing, in this year’s Jazz Journalists Association’s JJA Jazz Awards.
Those awards, and other honors, were announced Wednesday evening during festivities at the Blue Note jazz club in New York.
